cross the fdr to the east river
just a few shots taken with sarah while she was here on the day she mentioned in her last post. i know i look a little casual, but i just love that american apparel herringbone sweater i'm wearing (borrowed from sarah, of course)... just a comfortable outfit to walk around the city in on a beautiful sunny, spring (sort of) day.

Shake Shack and the East River
On my last day in NYC Marta, my friend Jinny and I went to Shake Shake for lunch (yum) then stopped by a street market and the east river on our way to a Holi celebration by the UN. Here are some pics from that adventure!

Lots of black on St. Pat's
Wearing predominantly black and neutral colors on St. Patrick's day haha! Minus my nail polish... which, though I did not plan it to be that way, happened to be mint green. Please excuse the disheveled hair, S and I took these photos after our long day spent thrift shopping and braving the crowds of overzealous party-goers decked out in green and clovers that seemed to be everywhere we turned.

glorious astroturf
I got a really nice point and shoot camera for my birthday a couple of years ago, and while I consider myself somewhat technologically savvy, I still have no idea what the settings on a digital camera do. You may have noticed that most of the pictures I have posted to date are blurry...

Out and about with prettyy edgyy
Us spending the day thrifting and eating around the East village...
While we were thrift shopping we stopped at Momofoku milk bar for dessert... probably some of the most amazing sweets we had ever tasted... highly recommended!

Afterward we headed back to Sarah's hotel to take some photos of her outfit on the rooftop where we ran into some people celebrating St. Patrick's day. What can I say, he really wanted to take a picture with us so I obliged...

New York New York
New York is such an awesome city, great food, great shopping, and close friends. This time I was in NYC doing research, but it was really nice to see my friends when I could. Marta and I have had a few photo shoots... which is really a treat considering that we usually take our take our own pictures (a feat of acrobatics and creative camera propping). We took these impromptu pictures at her place one night.
We added Marta's shoes and headband to part of what I was wearing when I came over.

rooftops and exit signs
reeeallly happy this week because sarah is in new york!!! we've got a lot of fun things planned for her free time here and they will probably all be featured on the blog- so be on the lookout for that! sunday night we went out to get dinner and then back to her awesome hotel where we headed up to the rooftop so sarah could take some shots of my outfit... and freeze! here they are...

Night of Redemption
What i wore yesterday on a girls night out... i probably wear this skirt too often, but it's just so versatile that i tend to always gravitate towards it. After a nice dinner we had drinks at a bar called Redemption (hence the title) and i have to say, it felt good to take a break from studying. Plus, i love any excuse to get dressed up!
